100 Days to Live 2019 720p WEB-DL x264

I was shocked to see how much coverage this no-big-name indy film is getting in Chicago, so I streamed it twice this morning. Why? Well....because I am an actor who was up for one of the main roles, and I didn't get it. And it's COVID and I have nothing to do but give my dog a bath today. Honestly, the first half of the movie isn't great. I mean, it's OK as a "law and order" type "plot, plot, plot" fast mover - but in no way would it justify more than a 5, or maybe even a 4. I didn't know what was going to happen because the sides I received in my reading were early scenes. But way too many flashbacks and easy coincidences for my taste. But, then something happened in the midpoint of the film (actually related to the character that I auditioned for) and that was not what I was expecting. Then, 20 minutes later something completely insane happened that elevated this to the 8/10 status. I am still thinking about it. And I now understand why those early flashbacks are necessary from a film structure standpoint. It's smart filmmaking, period. I truly wish I would have gotten the role, but I noticed some hater ripping on the acting of this film. Just cut it out - the acting is very good and that is confirmed in the critic reviews (it is not easy to get 3 stars from Rich Roeper, or 8/10 from Alan Ng.) These are pros who are not frustrated filmmakers and actors. Get over it. Give credit where credit is due - this is a well made, slick little production and I am happy to see it emerge from Chicago.
