When the movie started I thought i was actually watching a trailer for a new Avatar game for Xbox or PS5, then i realised to my horror that it was the movie. The problem was that the picture looked like the "soap opera effect" you get when messing about on your TV, but instead of it being key scenes it kept changing randomly every couple of seconds. I was informed by the cinema staff that it was something to do with the frame rate changing from 24FPS to 48FPS and thats how the director intended it to be. WTF? Why? Either have it one way or the other, or even certain scenes, but I dont get why you would want it to change randomly like it does, sorry but i think Cameron has lost the plot. Which brings me on to the run time. 3 and a half hours? Give someone millions of dollars to make a movie and they cant find a half decent script writer or editor to do a good job. Thousands of film students out there looking for work.
