Unfortunately, Avatar Fire and Ash lacked what made Avatar (2009) a must see film. Emotional depth and a deep connection to the characters is why we fell in love with Avatar. In Fire and Ash, character motivations seem to be scattered all over the place. The story concentrates primarily around Spider, and his desire to fit in with the rest of the Na'vi. This narrative often times felt weak and struggled to drive the film forward, hitting a wall and slowly disengaging us from the film. I thought James Cameron directed fairly well, giving us great action scenes, while the visuals and sound were also a positive. Ultimately, this film fell short of expectations and leaves you with a mixture of disappointment and frustration.
