I adored the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. I was raised on the shenanigans of Will and Co. I was so excited to see the remake and reading reviews saying it was more gritty than the original made it even more appealing. Watching the first few episodes made me grin ear-to-ear. They pulled on so many threads from the original. Made everything slot into place and did it with flair. The inside out blazer, Geoffrey, jazz ... It was clever, sassy and very true to what I had read ... it was more gritty. It was all too good to be true. Started with such promise and nostalgia. Morphed into white privilege blah blah bore off ...
