Over the last few years Chicago PD has become a significantly better offering than either of its sister shows (Chicago Fire & Med). The episodes are consistently engaging and tackle important moral issues, often very well. The balance struck between exploring the personal lives of the characters and the solving of 'Intelligence' cases, is excellent. Both Chicago Fire/Med have long since fallen down the 'soap opera' rabbit hole. The core cast of the show is also made up of very solid performers. The character of Upton in particular has been a great find for the show. The originals of Voight, Halstead, Ruzek, and Burgess are all well developed and likeable...most of the time. Overall, this show is definitely worth your time.
