This is an interesting portrayal of Rome 40 BC and it somehow scratches that Rome itch, but the similarities stop here. The series approach the period from a dramatic and somewhat close historic narrative with multiple pov in reference to the events past Julius Caesar stabbing and where that lead Rome forward. First 2 episodes might be a tad off-putting with the Zoom-er approach but it works really well in the following ones with a coherent character development/motivation and plot. Without spoiling too much the actors did a fantastic job portraying their characters and I'm looking forward for the second season and I hope they improve the production quality.
