FBI S08E13 720p WEB-DL x265
In its prime I appreciated how it shifted focus from the case at hand per se to the personal implications with the main cast, but I really can't get past how formulaic it has become in time. We have the 1 minute cold open with people chatting idly and then becoming the receiving end or the witnesses of a crime, someone cries "heeeelp! Oh my God please someone help me!", cut to the title card on black, then we get a slice of life of one of the main cast, with some deep problem with friends/family/partner etc., they receive the call, briefing at the bureau, then at the scene, some red herrings, people called out from the other side of the road start running away and of course they are not the culprit, cut to Maggie frowning and Omar mugging with a pouty face, then one of the cast has to do something morally questionable to crack the case, then showdown. The episode ends with the episode protagonist facing the moral consequences of their action, then sitting on their chair staring at the distance with the somber ending music, then cut to credits on a black screen. The whole thing seriously makes me wonder what's the point of screenwriting and if they film some scenes (like the ending ones with the contemplating protagonist) in bulk and then edit them for each single episode. This is getting really boring.
