The tone is bright, but the subject matter is dark (for Georgia at least). Some have complained. I agree that Netflix seems to be going for quantity. But this one is quality TV. One other thing. G&G is proof that with good writing you can reinvent and put a spin on all kinds of human dynamic and social situations. The characters in this aren't new. But they are well written and acted. There's no need for superhero over the top special effects when you have something interesting to say. Plus a top cast. P.S. It's true that it's a bit girl power and in sync with current racial and gender topics. But I'm a guy and I am still watching. Because it's not preachy (at least 2 episodes in) and seems to be going somewhere as a story.
