I was a little kid when I watched the BBC production of GE for the first time. Actually my grandad(passed last year) watched it and I caught bits and pieces of the show as I played with my toys close by, and some of the pieces remain etched in my mind even now. I remember the scene where estella slaps pip, pips first encounter with Magwitch. I think there was also a scene in the series finale where an adult Estella and Pip walk through the gates of Havisham's home, and a line said by Estella at the end "I think we are friends now...". That, is my memory of Great Expectations. The one star rating, is for this version replete with diversity, but lacking substance that would fail to create any lasting memories in anyone's mind.
