What do we say about this? The original Happy Gilmore was one of the best Adam Sandler movies there has been and I just felt like they didn't quite nail this one. Too much time was spent trying to throw in callbacks to the original. While some were well implemented they just overdid them in this. There were some genuinely funny moments sprinkled throughout the film which lived up to its predecessor and I just wish they had of stuck to that formula more than relying on funny moments of the past re-enacted. Happy Gilmore 2 is a movie that has a lot of star power littered throughout the cast but not necessarily all from the acting world. Singers, rappers, social media people, podcasters, football stars and golfers this movie had them all and as a result there were noticeable times when the acting was poor which is probably understandable but still takes you out of the moment. Through all of this, I enjoyed the movie and as long as you don't go in expecting too much from it I think you can find plenty of enjoyable moments throughout. While it's not a movie I will be racing back to watch again it is far from the worst movie I have seen this year.
