Having read all the Vampire Chronicles I've gotta say this is an excellent adaptation. Sam Reid is the best Lestat, better than I could've imagined or expected. I like that things are slightly different from the book as there are still surprises. Jacob Anderson is fantastic as well. I was super attached to the Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise version but the series is more aligned with the novels, in my opinion. I loved Lestat in the books but not the 90's movie and I love him even more in this series. I cannot wait to see where they take this and how far into the books it'll go. I'm still shocked at how well the Interview with the Vampire series turned out compared to the Mayfair Witches. My favorite Anne Rice series was the Mayfair Witches but they dropped the ball on that one. Don't be afraid to watch this one if the other put you off, they're like night and day. The production quality, casting, acting, etc is fantastic. A love story but still horror for those who love it. I've rewatched season 1 three times now and season 2 I've rewatched every episode again, as well. I truly hope this series makes it and they don't cancel. My only complaint is not enough episodes in the season as I cannot get enough.
