I'm a long time fan and watched the show since the beginning and of course the original Law & Order also. This is my first time writing a review on IMDB as this has just gone too far in the last 2-3 seasons of the show. As a non-American I can understand the needs to address some issues that are current in the US right now, but the plots are twisted to conform to some didactic, political narrative until they become ludicrous. I understand that you want to show more actors of color and more complicated scenarios, but it can't be instead of a good story and good acting. Law & Order SVU have always touched current issues, but that was a small part of an episode and not the entire plot. Please, I can't believe that all the crime stories in NYC are now hate crimes/involves people of color/politically motivated. Bring back the good old show. If I wanted to watch a news show with commentaries I would have done so myself.
