Still early in at episode 1 but if this is an indication of things to come then sit back..clench up and hold on to your gonads cause the ride is rocky and you may not be tall enough. Guy Richie directs here and sets up his usual suspects of British crime lords lead by Pierce Brosnan and his merry men..mainly Tom Hardy (always brilliant) as the "fixer"..Patty Considine as his son..an assortment of the ever so skilled associates and oh yes Helen Mirren ever so vengeful as the matriarchal wife. All are in for a penny out for a pound of flesh against their underworld rivalries and will hold quarter. Well written story of the British tug of War amongst the seedy soft white underbelly of London complete with all the nastiness that comes with it..blood and all, and with a dash of comedic sarcasm just for shits and giggles. This ain't Shakespeare but it's colloquial on its own merit and eloquent in its darkness. Give it a rip..alot more to come..a solid 8 out of the gate......Darryl Arrand.
