This really hits the spot if your looking for some gritty British gangster action. Fast paced enough to keep your attention with strong story line and some good performances. I've always thought Tom Hardy is one-dimensional and he still is, but his one dimension fits this perfectly. I have no idea why people think he's a great actor, to me he's like Jason Statham without the kung-fu, but as I say he does suit this role. The whole cast is solid but Helen Mirren is appalling, the worst accent I've heard since Charlie Hunnam in Green St, why didn't they just pick an actual Irish actor? Mirren's accent doesn't detract too much though, overall it's solid and well worth a watch.
