This is leaps and bounds much better than the movie it's based on. The comedy is on brand for Glover and Maya. They truly pair well together. The writing is sharp and funny. The relationship and dynamics are much more interesting this time around since they actually are given time to build. Not sure why the downpour of negativity. I couldn't imagine strongly disliking this show. I can't really find reasons to justify that. Just the fact that some people are so miserable they can't enjoy anything anymore. There's some flaws, the pacing is a bit off at times, but is it worth making a whiney review over? No. Maybe try to enjoy things, you might actually have a good time watching. I thoroughly enjoyed this, i hope you do too!
