An ethnic-Korean woman is been working as a stripper-plus. Her 10-year-old daughter adores her father, who occasionally visits, but is financially irresponsible, and subject to bipolar attitudes that look like a precursor to being abusive. Mom is trying to improve herself by taking accounting courses, but has problems with getting babysitters. With a female writer-director, this definitely has a female point of view. What I found most interesting was the performance of Eponine Lee as the child, and I wasn't surprised to see that she received a special jury award. But there are a few too many loose ends, and a bit too many characters. I'll recheck the film when it comes back out on TV, so I can rewind and re-view some of the happenings.
