Now with spy plots, and objectives beyond Nottingham.. this adaptation takes a more Game of Thrones-like approach, with plentiful sex scenes and deaths every episode. Robin Hood has been done too many times now.. so, the historical liberties they've taken with 12th century details are no surprise. Personally, even a small change is appreciated.. sadly it doesn't amount much so far. It is watchable and I'm keeping an open mind, but 4 episodes of 50 minutes in, and I wouldn't sing it praises with how little it has to offer. But the cast is good (except maybe the lead that has trouble matching expectations or finding his charming self to be liked by the viewer), and the execution great. It seems to have lofty ambitions.. we'll see if it delivers.
