I gave this a try because a friend recommended it. I should have listened to my instincts on this one. For one, it was such an obvious stealing of a family's actually tragedy (the Natalie Holloway disappearance) so I hope that family was not further traumatized because I'm sure they probably didn't bother to ask them permission to drag this horrible story back out into the public eye. Secondly, the acting was so awful. One in particular stood out and that was Alycia Debnam Carey. And I mean stood out in just how awful her acting was, even in an entire cast of lackluster, wooden performances. It took me a minute to recognize her and then it dawned on me I'd seen her in The 100. So, here, she isn't wearing the brown face and bindi, but is certainly wearing the same blank expression and empty stare. I don't know how many more roles she can get with this complete unwillingness or inability to emote anything but boredom.
