Sheriff Country follows Mickey Fox (Morena Baccarin), the interim sheriff of Edgewater - a woman shaped by the town that once stood by her after her father's arrest for growing weed. Her father, an ex-con now trying to run his cannabis business legally, and her daughter Skye, four months sober, both pull her in different emotional directions. Baccarin brings the same quiet strength and moral clarity she displayed as Inara Serra in Firefly and Serenity, but here it's grounded in small-town law enforcement, the emotional weight of family, and a more action-oriented role. The pilot closes on a moment that tests Mickey's instincts and her integrity. The series also begins to build a shared-universe connection with Fire Country, as familiar faces like Skye's cousin Bode Leone (Max Thieriot) appear, adding depth to the town and family dynamics. Based on the first episode, Baccarin's performance is compelling, but it remains to be seen how the series will hold up.
