To paraphrase Sheldon ("Aishwarya Rai is a poor man's Madhuri Dixit") - Sherlock and Daughter is a poor man's ... any of numerous series that have Sherlock theme. Some is maybe due to a not so big budget on which it was made, but mostly it's lack of any real spark characters were given, shoddy direction and editing, total shambles they made in casting and lack of creativity in writing. David Thewlis is great actor, but he shines as a character actor, and would probably be a superb Sherlock if creators and writers had allowed him some leeway - and some, at least semi decent script. But alas, no, they kept their paint-by-numbers approach, which resulted in badly colored product. Still, Thewlis is at least trying to do something with what's he been given, the rest of the cast is just irritable to watch.
