Splitsville 2025 720p WEB-DL x264

Splitsville (2025) left me utterly disturbed and unsettled-easily the weirdest, most off-putting film I've seen this year. What starts as a quirky road trip with a singing couple devolves into a raw dissection of open marriages, and while it nails the total BS of that "freedom" of so called "open marriage" the director's insistence on calling it a comedy feels tone-deaf and sick. I pitied every character: heartbroken Carey enduring his wife's parade of lovers, Julie quietly crumbling as her husband prioritizes hookups. That iconic dialogue-"Make the bad thing OK, and there's no guilt"-is a gut-punch truth, but why laugh at the suffering? The deadly car crash "gag" and fish-tank brawl offer fleeting chuckles, and the music's lovely, but the rest is pure tragedy dressed as farce. It risks normalizing postmodern toxicity, and I couldn't stomach it. 3/10-brilliant critique buried under forced humor that just broke my heart more. Skip unless you're unfazed by the mess. I made a detailed review on my blog. But this much is enought for now and here.
