I think the family dinamic is realistic and you can appreciate family values. You get to see a "human" side or superman that you usually do not see in the movies and it's really nice. I mean you even get to see some "father in law" realationship in the mix. And "father" Superman is not something you see very often and it's nice. The casting is perfect, no complaints in that area. Also there is slow but good character development. The only thing I don't love in this show are the villains, they seem to come out a little short and predictable. However it's still a really enjoyable tv show. I would recommend this to any DC or Superman fan.
