Anne Hamilton-Byrne was the leader of an Australian doomsday cult called The Family which started in the 1970's and was active for about 20 years, she considered herself the Messiah. She was 'gifted' children from wealthy followers, or had bogus adoptions, and most of them had the blonde hair featured in the mini-series. And an aside, Julian Assange grew up in The Family. This show is fascinating if you have a bit of background (unlike some of the reviewers here), I like how they go back and forth on timelines, the acting is accomplished, and the portrayal of the leader is on point. This is a good watch if you are interested in cult dynamics. I am not sure how closely this aligns with the actual historical goings-on but is definitely keeping my interest.
