This is everything that's wrong with cinema right now, the definition of get woke go broke. First the obvious, you had 3 movies that were really good, now whether you liked the matrix trilogy is immaterial. What is material is fact that you went from a encapsulating story, great fight scenes and amazing outfits, to this pathetic rendition of it's former self. The best part of this movie was watching clips from the other movies, because everything else was just bad. Let's start with the cast, Morpheus is a jester with some weird terrible sense of style, and zero class. That is to say you just cast the polar opposite of what the original Morpheus was, and let me point out that next to Neo, Morpheus was the most interesting part of the first movie. Next we have the rest of the cast, they're not bad as actors go, where they are bad is wardrobe and hairstyles, tactless to say the least. Which brings us to fighting, what the hell was that? You have a huge budget and you hire who? Joshua Grothe? REALLY?!?! You honestly didn't think to get Nick Powell, you know the guy who choreographed the fighting in a little movie called THE BOURNE IDENTITY! I'm getting very tired of seeing great franchises ruined by stupid decisions like fight choreographers, and like writing that anyone with half a brain could have told you would simply not work. That was 2½ hours worth of you remaking a great movie into a bad movie. Make no mistake this was a travesty. Even Keanu couldn't save this movie, although he did his best. The thing is in this movie he wasn't a hacker like he was in the first 3, he was a magician with 1 spell, barrier. And throughout the movie you will see it, repeatedly. And now apparently Trinity is the new Neo somehow? Whatever, it's clear that Lilly was the real writer with talent out of the 2. 4/10 I just can't.. it's so sad.
