First off, Samantha Morton and Liv Hill do a good job in their portrayal of Catherine; beyond that I wasn't impressed. For the most part, the storyline and dialogue seemed clunky and disjointed. One minor peeve of mine is a musical score that is far too modern for the time period. Not sure why film makers think this is a good idea; it seems out-of-place and takes away from the overall feel of a story. But that's just me. Catherine De Medici was such a dynamic woman. It's a shame that this series won't do her life story justice. I made it through two episodes but don't think I'll take any more time to view anything further.
