There was some really good graphic design on the main characters and The Flying Dutchman, but a lot of the baddies along felt like generic video game fodder. I was surprised at the lack of jokes per minute in this movie, coming in expecting something more frantic. There are some decent visual jokes and a few for the parents that fell flat Something that really bothered me was the lack of more ambient sound. This felt like a low point for the SpongeBob franchise that I've watched since the '00s when I was in my 20s.
