The original The Strangers was a perfectly fine one off movie that required absolutely zero backstory or further information. We understood: these are deeply sick and twisted people who enjoy toying with and killing their victims. They got away with it and will likely do it again. But we didnt need to see any other murders or story, because the first one was self-contained. Do you know the meme of Ryan Reynolds in a surgical outfit and mask going "But why?" That is this whole trilogy. The "story" is long and drawn out for absolutely no reason, and its not interesting in the slightest. We didnt need to know the "Is Tamara" home backstory. We didnt need the "characters" backstory. We didnt need new random people constantly thrown into the mix just to be canon fodder to three normal people who seem to practically be superhuman magic people with their antics. The final installment was a waste of everyones time. I have no idea why this trilogy exists or who its for. This isnt Pennywise where there is a deep well of lore to mine, its barely a puddle. Do yourself a favor. Vote with your wallet and ignore this awful product.
