Although the idea of a group of teens finding something ancient and regretting every decision after that has been used time and time again it was fun. Unfortunately the story never really got you on the edge of your seat. It was very predictable and so were most of the scares, which were pretty much all jumpscares. At no point the movie managed to get me genuinely startled. A lot of stereotypes pass the venue as well this film. Ass of a teacher: check. Dumb blonde: check. Obnoxious black person: check. Obnixious guy denying that what is happening is real: check. All in all it's not a bad film. But not great. Just a fun one to watch once and then continue on with your life.
