WrestleMania 42 fell short of expectations with an underwhelming overall card, too much filler and short matches that lacked time to breathe, a confusing Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton main event on Night 1 hampered by Pat McAfee interference, weak booking, and some bouts failing to deliver hype or payoff. Orton v Rhodes is only night 1 main event in history which failed to deliver. On the positive side, it featured some epic entrances, strong crowd energy in Las Vegas, standout bouts like Seth Rollins vs Gunther, solid moments including new title changes, rising stars like Oba Femi shining with Lesnar's farewell, Paige's return, and a incredible Night 2 main event with CM Punk vs Roman Reigns that helped salvage the weekend for many fans. It's one of the greatest main events of all time. However I think match deserved a better ending. Overall it was a mediocre event, salvaged little bit by Night 2's energy, but far from a memorable WrestleMania event.
