I think Bryan Cranston knocked it out of the park with a real look at what somebody in this position would most likely do to save their own child. As far as the comments about character being preachy, I would point out the fact that we pay these people to me just that... preachers of the law. I think the show does well to point out what any parent would do in a situation like this potentially, and that even those who hold the highest offices of our land are fallible, and ultimately human. Well done.
