Forbidden Fruits (2026) is a comedy horror movie directed by Meredith Alloway with a screenplay she co-wrote with Lily Houghton which is based on Houghton's stage play "Of the woman came the beginning of sin, and through her we all die" and it takes place at a mall where Apple leads a secret witch cult with coworkers Cherry and Fig, but new hire Pumpkin starts to question their sisterhood which forces them to confront inner darkness or meet violent ends. This is a movie I was planning on watching because of the cast and then I heard the movie was basically "Mean Girls meets The Craft" and I was instantly sold on that idea. I just got done watching the movie and it was awesome. Positives for Forbidden Fruits (2026): Like I said, this movie is basically Mean Girls meets The Craft both for better and worse. This is one of those movies where the target audience is clearly the female demographic, but I got a lot out of this story and I'm a guy. The movie has a great style to the way it looks and the costumes that match the personalities for our four leads. Speaking of that, the cast is fantastic in their roles whether you're talking about Lili Reinhart as Apple, Lola Tung as Pumpkin, Victoria Pedretti as Cherry and Alexandra Shipp as Fig. I enjoyed seeing these characters interact and discussing about their lives and how they met each other. The movie has some great comedy and horror elements blended perfectly. There are some gnarly kills with amazing practical effects that had me smiling as a gore hound. The movie has a great pace to the story that has you invested in what is going to happen by the end of things. And finally, this is one of those movies that will definitely gain a cult following in the future. Mixed for Forbidden Fruits (2026): While our four leads are charming, they aren't very likable as people which is clearly intentional by the filmmakers, but I can understand why some people would be turned off by them. Negatives for Forbidden Fruits (2026): The ending was pretty underwhelming and it tries to set up sequel bait in a way that feels lazy. Overall, Forbidden Fruits (2025) is a comedy horror movie that will definitely be fun to discuss with other people and that makes me happy. If you love Mean Girls (2004) and The Craft (1996), then this movie is going to satisfy you.
