Painful dialogue. Everyone's thoughts and feelings are said aloud without any nuance or subtext. Everyone is so proud of their debauchery and selfishness they advertise it to the world with cringe-inducing abandon. Maybe that's the point, these characters' depravity worn like badges of honor. It only made me feel sympathy for the main characters' daughter, who seems like an afterthought in the mother's pursuit of getting laid and writing her novel. There's no one to connect to, no one to empathize with. It's obnoxiously brash for the sake of shock value when just a little nuance would have gone a long way to making this somewhat intriguing premise the least bit interesting.
