First off the new lead is perfect as the main Librarian, I for once am glad the original actor was replaced (not saying anything negative about Flynn or Noah, just that the new guy is the perfect casting). Noah has been the main Librarian since the first Librarian Movie in 2004 ;but the series needed a new head Librarian. Second it seems like they upgraded Eve Baird (another character I'm glad is gone) from a 5 to a solid 8 or maybe even a 9 ;but Eve Baird was more convincing as a woman that could beat people up/kick butt than the new actress IMO. I'm also glad the new guardian Charlie gets a baton, it helps sell it a little bit. The Cassandra replacement is a downgrade IMO, that's an overall downgrade character wise (it's like we got K-Mart Cassandra that was in the bargain) ;but at least she doesn't drone on about or seek constant pity about a brain tumor at every possible opportunity. Ezekiel's replacement is another downgrade IMO, he has no real skill set to offer to the library other than studying history and running a conspiracy website ;but there's no skills that actually make him an asset (I wasn't a huge fan of Ezekiel as a character ;but he was at least skilled enough to offer actual help that no one else could). Jacob Stone returns in the new series and imo was the worst character in the original show as the character is overconfident while being insecure at the same time, he also holds every one else to a higher standard than he sets for himself (meaning it's ok for him to do something ;but if someone else does it he calls them out or snaps on them). I also think he was miscast as the actor is not a convincing fit for the role of a tough guy, Jacob should have been played by a more muscular actor with real definition.
