It was a good first episode, not great, but decent, with interesting characters and an exciting political landscape. What I don't like is that for all it's wokeness (I'd prefer to call "wokeness" reality though, (gay main character with black daughter, feminism, sexual harassment issues, immigration) nearly all of the shots of Edie Falco use a soft lens to soften her wrinkles. It's so obvious and annoying - there is nothing wrong with her face. It's pretty jarring to be looking at a male in one shot who is being filmed with crystal clear HD, and then to flip to Edie Falco and it looks like she's being filmed through vaseline. This needs to stop.
