I'm not biased by the books, it is a great series but the character of Gaal and boyfriend : bright minds / not too bright teenager-like is verily poorly written in season 1, unnecessarily long romance sequence ruin an overall great SF. A bit like Star Wars with the Ewoks. Writers should focus more on the main story and stop emphasizing on easily understood character interactions. We the fans would really really enjoy such a series directed by the guy who did True Detective. Then you can compete with a Game of Thrones a rise on top of the ratings. Let's see if season 2 manages to make it better.
