Ice Pocalypse 2026 720p WEBRip x264
Without ever having heard about this 2026 movie "Ice-Pocalypse", I opted to watch it as I had the opportunity to do so. Sure, I have to admit that I didn't harbor much of any grand expectations to the movie, as it's cover seemed like a low budget rip-off of the 2004 movie "The Day After Tomorrow". And when the movie started and it became clear that it was a movie from The Asylum, I have to admit that it certainly didn't do much to bolster any grand expectations to the movie. Writer Jeffery Anderson put together a rather generic and formulaic script and formula; one that followed every trop in the how-to-make-a-natural-disaster-movie handbook step by step. The narrative was pretty much the same as in basically any other natural disaster movie; a small group of people struggle to save the entire Earth against insurmountable odds. The plot is filled with a lot of pseudo-scientific and pseudo-physics expressions and words to throw off the audience. And there are massive plot holes that leaves you baffled, especially how a massive tsunami was instantly frozen solid, by the town it was descending upon was left unscathed of the beyond excessive drop of temperature that would be able to freeze a tsunami - and we are playing along on writer Jeffery Anderson's fantasy here of a tsunami being able to be flash-frozen. The movie is just crammed with cringeworthy dialogue, which made the movie all the more fun to sit through. However, I will say that the movie ultimately managed to do it's job, as intended, as it proved to be an entertaining enough movie for what it turned out to be. Of the entire cast ensemble in "Ice-Pocalypse", I was only familiar with Patrick Labyorteaux. The acting performances in the movie were fair. Visually, then I will say that The Asylum certainly have upped their game. The effects in the movie were actually good. So thumbs up to The Asylum for that accomplishment. My rating of director Marcel Walz's 2026 movie "Ice-Pocalypse" lands on a four out of ten stars.
